Wells, Pools and Falls

The Pou Clar is part of the Municipal Natural Area of the Sierra de la Ombria-Pou Clar and is the main contribution of water to the Clariano River. Upstream the watercourse is intermittent. It consists of a series of wells or puddles dug into the rock by the erosive action of the water to which the people have given their name.

The Clar well supplied water to the population of Ontinyent until the 1960s, and still supplies part of the irrigation of the Ontinyent orchard. On the walls that close the place are the windows of the Pou Clar, caves excavated in the rock around the X-XII centuries that served as granaries.
