Desconcerto begins with the surprise of a group of musicians in front of a full theater, unleashing a whirlwind of melodies that ranges from opera to pop, hip hop and classics by Vivaldi and Beethoven, and even Michael Jackson. In this dynamic show, twelve musicians chase their conductor on stage, entangled in romances and creating music with unusual objects such as bottles and typewriters. Breaking with the conventional, Desconcerto offers a gestural theater full of action, where each movement tells a story, and the music becomes the true protagonist.

Desconcerto is the second project by Jordi Purtí and Orthemis Orquestra (Nova Orquestra de Cambra de l’Empordà), after the great success of Concerto a Tempo d’Umore. A show that fuses classical music with modern staging, combining the dynamism of gestural theater with the rigor of the great composers in the history of music. It is a quality encounter between music, theatre, humor and the emotion of spectators of all ages and cultures. Desconcerto has been the winner of the Young Audiences Music Awards (YAMAWARS) 2021 for Best Large Format Show and the Audience Award, the Special Parents’ Choice Award of the IV Big Kids Festival and the 2022 Super Award for Best Con/ Cierto Humor Show.
