The travelling exhibition ‘Balconades’, which brings together 55 works by artists from different origins, will finally arrive in the historic center of l’Alfàs del Pi on 17 September, where it will remain for the rest of the month turning the streets of the historic center into a large open-air art gallery.

The exhibition, which was staged and remains in Altea, was initially scheduled to arrive in l’Alfàs at the beginning of September. The inauguration has been delayed a few days, to coincide with the completion of the actions carried out in the Plaza Mayor and Federico García Lorca street, as well as with the installation of the new furniture in these areas.

The opening ceremony will take place on Thursday, September 17 and will be attended by municipal representatives and some of the artists participating in this edition, who will be able to accompany the public during the presentation of their works.

‘Balconades’ is one of the most unique cultural proposals in the region. The 55 works that make up the exhibition are installed on balconies and facades of the historic center, creating an open-air artistic tour that allows you to enjoy the creations while walking through the streets of the municipality.

With more than 25 years of experience, this initiative was born in Altea with the aim of taking art to the street and bringing it closer to all citizens. The exhibition combines culture, heritage and neighbourhood participation, since it is the residents themselves who collaborate by giving up the balconies of their homes for the exhibition of the works.

After passing through Altea, l’Alfàs del Pi will be one of the stops on its itinerant tour through different municipalities, offering during the month of September residents and visitors the opportunity to discover contemporary art in a heritage environment.

The arrival of ‘Balconades’ joins the cultural program of l’Alfàs del Pi and will allow you to enjoy a different, open and free proposal, which invites you to tour the historic center, contemplate the works and discover the local heritage from an artistic perspective.
