The Boulevard des Músicos and the Paseo de las Estrellas on Albir beach will host the first International Volunteer Fair of Alfàs del Pi. A festive, cultural, and charitable event by the sea will bring together more than twenty local, regional, national, and international associations and NGOs under the slogan “A Day to Change the World.”

More than just a fair, it is a space for meeting, raising awareness, and committing to fundamental causes such as peace education, global justice, the defense of human rights, gender equality, and the eradication of poverty and exclusion. A day where art, participation, and cooperation come together to build a better world.

From 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., residents and visitors will be able to discover first-hand the work of such renowned organizations as Intermón Oxfam, Doctors of the World, Manos Unidas, Diocesan Caritas, International Solidarity of the Valencian Country, Helsinki Spain, ASPANION, Red Cross, the Lions Club, the Social Volunteer Association of l’Alfàs, Anémona, Juita Expedition Friends of the Saharawi People, Corazón Exprés, Solidarity Workshops and De Amicitia, among many others.

Starting at 9:30 a.m., the information tents will open, and family activities, children’s workshops, and interactive attractions will begin. These include a 360-degree virtual reality simulator and a 360-degree photocall to capture unique moments. A collective mural is also planned: a large collaborative painting created by all the children and attendees. They will also be able to participate in creative workshops for all ages, games, and entertainment.

The program includes, at 10:00 a.m., the storytelling session “Stories for Family Dreams by the Sea”; at 11:30 a.m., the social theater performance “The Rebirth of Harmony,” by Racatrá Teatro, the volunteer activist company of International Solidarity of the Valencian Country; and at 1:00 p.m., the Chamaleon Jazzgroup will perform live, a blend of jazz and fusion that will fill the Paseo de las Estrellas with rhythm.

The Councilor for Cooperation and Volunteering of l’Alfàs del Pi, Isabel Muñoz, noted that “this fair represents the best of the spirit of l’Alfàs del Pi: an open, supportive, and egalitarian community. It is also a way to express our gratitude and give visibility to the constant work of volunteers and continue to spread awareness, peace, and social justice at the local level.”

The first International Volunteer Fair is part of l’Alfàs del Pi’s commitment to the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals, and reinforces its commitment to an active, empathetic, and globally connected citizenry to build a more just, inclusive, egalitarian, diverse, supportive, and peaceful future.
