Guided visits to the Molí de Mànec en español!
The Department of Cultural Heritage of the Town Council of l’Alfàs del Pi has designed a program of guided tours, which includes two interesting routes: ‘El Molí de Mànec’, to learn about the history of this flour mill which dates back to the late 18th and early 19th centuries, and ‘Los caminos del agua’, which includes, in addition to a visit to the Molí de Mànec, a tour of the hermitage of Sant Vicent and the unique trees of Carbonera.
This program of guided tours, which will run from October 2024 to May 2025, was presented this morning by the Councilor for Cultural Heritage of the Town Hall of l’Alfàs del Pi, Sandra Gómez, the municipal Heritage technician, Carolina Frías, and the environmental disseminator, Richard Barreno.
Specifically, the route ‘Los caminos del agua’ will take place on October 27, December 15, February 23 and April 13. Of low difficulty, it involves a 5 kilometer route and lasts approximately 4 hours. This route, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., can be done in Spanish and Valencian. The starting and finishing point has been established on Pics de Europa street.
During the journey, the Molí de Mànec will be visited as well as other places of interest, such as the Captivador chapel, where the festivities in honor of Sant Vicent are celebrated, and the unique trees of Carbonera, including the Foia Brell carob tree. “This tree, catalogued as monumental, is 800 years old and is the largest and oldest specimen in the Valencian Community,” explained the Councilor for Cultural Heritage, Sandra Gómez.
